Supporting “A Date for Wellness” Campaign

This 4th July is bitter-sweet. The re-opening of businesses to include hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafes and hairdressing marks the next phase in the new normal, living with covid-19.

Having these places to return to for their sense of community and bringing family and friends together to wine and dine, share specials occasions and much needed ‘breaks from home’ and valued hair treatments is just the ticket. For the businesses themselves the opportunity to begin to thrive again.

It does, however leave many within the spa, beauty and wellness industry with huge uncertainty for the future, not knowing an anticipated date to resume business, and we wanted to take the opportunity to shout about why our industry is so greatly important too.

“Your Wellness, Naturally”

Physical well-being can mean beauty, aesthetic, and cosmetic treatments, with the desire to look your absolute best using tools and products to achieve the required result. It can mean the health and fitness of your body through exercise, diet and use of spa facilities. It can mean the treating of skin and body conditions and ailments, through beauty, spa, and holistic treatments.

All of the above results in care and maintenance of the human body that in turn, promotes mental well-being, because to look your best, to be well and to receive care and nurturing from a professional, all contributes towards a healthy mental state.

In today’s modern society, many crave an alternative to busier public social spaces and this is where spas, salons and wellness facilities provide quiet havens for social well-being for more intimate groups, or areas to relax alone in a safe environment, where the professionals understand health and hygiene and have your well-being at the forefront of their minds.

All these contributing factors for physical, mental, and social well-being are so vitally important to a healthy being, at a time when we have never needed it more.

We stand in solidarity with our spa partners, and as members of the UK Spa Association we fully support their pursuit to secure a “A Date For Wellness” A date for spas to re-open in the safe way that they can, and for the thousands of our industry professionals to have the freedom to re-open when they feel ready.

We wish those businesses re-opening from 4th July a safe, healthy, and successful new start.
